On Saturday 8/07/10 I took advantage of Econo Air's $69 Summer Tune Up special only to have Econo Air take advantage of me. My A/C system was working fine with no problems. Their technician suggested that I replace my capacitor because it had rust on the connections. He quoted me a price of $500, which I agreed to. However after he left I did some research and talked to a few friends. I found out that I was way overcharged for this service. I figured that on the generous side the service was worth $300. I wrote two emails to Raul at Econo Air, 8/15/10 & 8/18/10, requesting a $200 refund and received no response. On 8/23/10 I sent a typed letter to Econo Air which Raul responded to on 8/25/10 by phone. He said that their Tech had probably used the wrong part number in the bill which increased the cost. He said he would be willing to refund the $200 I had asked for in my letter. He said to give him 10 days for the credit to show up. I did not receive the credit in the 10 days as promised so I called Raul on 9/10/10 & 9/16/10. Both times he was not available so I left him voicemail messages. He never called me back but a check for $200 came in the mail on 9/24/10. Bottom Line: Even though the capacitor was working fine it was over 5 years old. I do not know how long they last. So it was preventative maintenance. Would I do business with Econo Air in the future, probably not. I thought I could trust them because they advertise on a Christian radio station. My bad.

I am sorry to hear that Raul A. is "once again dissappointed" with me. I received a refund from Econo Air because they OVERCHARGED me not because of a promise to "tell others how Econo Air gives World Class Service". I made no such "deal" with Raul A. The air conditioner has not suffered from neglect. One might expect rust to show up on a metal part attached to an air conditioning unit that is outside 365 days a year. Allowing the technician to replace the capacitor was preventive maintenance. However to charge over $300 to install a $75 part that took the removal of a few screws and 10 minutes work is wrong. The only tragedy is that other people who do business with Econo Air may be overcharged and not be aware of it. As far as I am concerned Econo Air has a long way to go before they can make the claim of World Class Customer Service.

I am once again dissapointed that GOrdon is still not happy even after a refund. The deal was that if we gave him a refund, He would tell others how Econo Air gives World Class Customer Service I was hoping that as we lived up to our promise Gordon would have done the same by telling others how great of a company we are as he promised. Tragically it appears that Gordons system though only a few years old, may have had some neglect, thus the reason for the parts change out. We would have only wished that he would not have had buyers remorse after the
fact. Please find a small sampling of our many hundreds of thousands of satisfied custoemrs at. These happy customers really point to the accuracy of Econo's Satisfaction Guarantee.
