Unexpected Charges

Upon learning of the issue stated below, I called the company 1-877 number and was assisted by a rep named RHONDA. Ms. Rhonda was very helpful and remember, we all have a job to do, so she went through the obligatory process of asking me if I was sure I wanted to cancel and also offered a lower monthly rate (60% discount) for the services I was "signed up" for. I gracefully declined and she listened as I explained my issues with payments going through on my card when there was wrong information. Not only did she consult with her supervisor, but she managed to assist me with a hard cancel to the account and facilitated a $239.88 refund back onto my card. Thank you Ms. Rhonda and to your supervisor who helped me today.
On 1/16/2013, there was a Charge on card for $39.90. It was unexpected. I cancelled this account over a year ago.
I checked my email after seeing this charge and the last email from creditscore.com was on 1/2/2013 saying that they could NOT process my payment due to my payment information being inaccurate. I requested a new password online (the account seemed to still be active), logged on to creditscore.com and I checked my billing information. Same Card Number, but the expiration was 06/2012. I look at my current card and my expiration on that is 06/2014. I DID NOT CALL TO UPDATE MY CARD INFORMATION BETWEEN 01/02/2013 & 01/16/2013, yet a charge actually MADE IT THROUGH. How did you get my updated card expiration date and a go ahead to charge my card WITHOUT MY INVOLVEMENT?
