Same same! wish I'd seen this string of reviews before I purchased
|
Don't purchase from this acwholesalers.com, nor goductless.com. Both are the same company as hvacstores.com, and I'm guessing they need multiple names just in case potential customers have heard the reputation of one of their cover identities. Saving a little money is tempting on the surface, but it is never worth the headaches such as people describe here and my story corroborates:
1. Products didn't ship immediately, and a couple days later I got an email that my items were out of stock, though that information was not revealed on the website nor in my order confirmation email.
2. Products magically shipped weeks later the instant I emailed them about cancelling the order.
3. When the products finally arrived, I had waited almost an entire month, and had to be out of town at the time of delivery. My spouse accepted it but left it to me to open when I returned home, at which time I discovered both items were damaged.
4. I agreed to keep the least damaged item that seemed only scratched, but began the struggle to have the other item replaced. First they claimed that the replacement would also be damaged, as that is probably how they arrive from the manufacturer. Then I suggested a refund would be a better option so that I could find an undamaged unit locally, and they claimed that the damage wouldn't affect the functioning of the unit. I insisted that it would, with ample photos showing how extensive the damage was to an obviously carefully engineered part of the cooling system. They still tried to deny me an exchange on the basis that no one opened and reported the damage immediately; but I didn't back down, pointing out that if they had shipped it in a timely manner, I would have been home to open it, but we would still be making the same request for an exchange, just a couple weeks sooner!
5. When I was finally issued a return authorization, they said I should wait to hear from the freight company about retrieving the damaged item. After a week without contact I requested an update on the return because I'd heard nothing from he freight company. They said they would reach out to the freight co and get back to me. Another week passed in silence from both the merchant and the freight company.
6. It's been almost two months since I placed the order (2 long hot months without AC and by hot I mean proof-of-climate-change-hot: frequently 100-115 degrees and so humid it randomly rains on us without cooling off), and they have not picked up the damaged item, nor sent a replacement item. If they were acting in good faith surely they would have at least sent the replacement by now. I have no patience left for waiting out whatever scam this company is trying to run on me, so I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. Hopefully they will have my back, and I can be done with this sham business.
