They Were Professional -- When I Cancelled. Now We'll See If the Cancellation is Effective.
|
I've read the other reviews. I recently received a sales call from this company, and the salesperson (male) was very difficult to understand due to having a thick accent (sounded Asian, but not sure), talking really fast, and using a phone or headset that had a lot of "popping" and distortion. I can't speak to other people's experiences, but I did understand when I signed up that it would be one month free, and after that they would bill me through the phone bill. The salesperson raced over this detail, but I asked him to repeat it, and the second time I heard and understood. He informed me that I could cancel within 30 days. He told me I would be sent an email, and I did get one, confirming. He informed me there would be no written contract, and I could call to cancel. That's what I did.
When I called to cancel, the guy on the phone tried to talk me out of it twice, but ultimately he went ahead and cancelled it, and gave me a cancellation number. He said I'd get an email, and I got one right away, confirming the cancellation.
I don't mean to be unkind, but people do need to pay attention to what's being said and agreed to when they know they are being pitched a product or service over the phone. If you don't understand, you need to get clarification. If you don't get it, make very clear -- say it out loud -- you do not want to buy or try anything. Keep notes of the conversation. The sales pitch I received was clearly scripted and went very fast.
BTW, I was told on the phone the name of the company was IZISEARCH, so I was confused when I received an email from "eBridge Advertising." You might not necessarily make the connection if busy and going over emails quickly. So, that is somewhat deceptive and needs fixing. They should state the same name in the phone call and in the email confirming.
