Ebridge Advertising (Aka 888MyZipLocal) is a SCAM
|
After reviewing my CenturyLink phone bill that appeared unusually high, I noticed unauthorized charges from a company called 888MyZipLocal who I later learned is Ebridge Advertising in Encino, CA. I called them to reverse the charge and learned that they had been billing me for 4 months at $49.95 per month. I asked the "customer support" rep to reverse the charges since I have never heard/spoken/purchased/ or authorized any services from their company, the rep told me I did authorize the services and they had a recorded phone call to prove it. I asked them to email me the recording and I have yet to receive anything from them. They claim they listed my business on "125 internet search sites". When I asked which sites, the rep stated Kudzu, MerchantCircle, Yelp, etc.. I have a lot of PPC, SEO and internet directory experience and all of these sites are free listing sites that I registered my business on 5+years ago. The rep was insistent that their charges were authorized. After 10 minutes of back and forth the rep said she emailed her supervisor and was authorized to cancel the service and refund me 1 month of charges. When I said this wasn't good enough she said that I authorized payment and that she had a verbal agreement with me that was valid. Ebridge goes by other names, 888MyZipLocal, 777MyZipLocal, etc they are all telemarketing Scams that provide no value. I went onto other sites they claimed they listed me with and my business did not appear. My next emails are to the BBB, the AG, and to the Complaints Board. Ebridge is an EScam. Be sure to review your entire phone bill every month as they hide these charges at the very back of the bill disguised as an internet service fee.
