A West Coast Appliance Repair Technician quoted a Senior Citizen as much to repair her 15 year old low end refrigerator ($300) as it would cost to buy a new one. The Senior Citizen is my mother and since she doesn't know the cost of new refrigerators (or about all of the energy efficient models now available), she authorized the repair. What makes the situation even worse is the repair WAS NOT successful and my mother had to buy a new refrigerator within days of the unsuccessful repair. This company should not be dealing with Senior Citizens or anyone else who is an easy target for being ripped off.
