Review 12/15/2009
|
I engaged Waypoint Law Group in early November 2009 to negotiate a loan modification for $1000, to be placed in a trust fund. I then did some research on the internet, and found that this firms mortgage renegotiation was a scam. Because they did an electronic draft from my bank account for the funds, I cannot get my bank to help me recover my funds. I have been trying to contact the firm for 3 weeks, via email an telephone with no response. On 5 December 2009 I sent a certified/registered letter terminating my relationship with this firm and requesting a refund of the remaining funds in the trust fund, and they firm accepted the response, but to date I have not received my refund. What I read on the internet scares me, and should scare you!. My lesson learned - Do not authorize an electronic draft to your savings/checking, because you have very limited rights. If doing business with an unfamiliar company, pay by credit card, because you have more protections under the law. My recommendation - Do not do business with Waypoint Law Group!!!
