I have found Vengroff, Williams & Associates to be unprofessional and rude in their business practices from their "customer service" representatives right up to their management personnel. They fail to provide sufficient proof of debt when it is requested and are then rude and lie about the actual circumstances of the interaction between the client and the agency. In my circumstance, I asked for proper documentation of the invoice in question. I also made a "good faith" payment of a portion of the bill to show that I was not trying to avoid the bill but that I wanted the accurate amount which was due. The agency representatives continued to provide the amounts of the invoices provided by their client instead of providing what was requested which was the actual audit or figures which led to the invoice. I explained to them that I was disputing the charges and had a right to do this yet they continued to harass me by failing to provide the documentation needed to resolve the dispute. They claim they provided this information but this is a lie. They only continued to provide the same invoice which did not detail where the charges came from. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was disconnected. I was also passed from person to person and left on the line while I listened to the representatives speak to each other about me saying that I was harassing them. I was not given to a supervisor as requested and several women were very rude and then hung up on me. When I called back to tell them that I wanted to speak to someone to resolve the matter, the woman on the other end said I was harassing her. I told her that I wanted to speak to someone who would listen to me and look into the matter. She continued to hang up on me. I then called their New York office and the gentleman I spoke to there who is listed on the BBB site was also rude stating that I basically didn't have the right to documentation of the charges because I hadn't paid the bill in a timely manner and the matter ended up in collections. I tried to explain to him that I did contact my agent when I received the bill to dispute the amount prior to collections and that my agent was unable to access the information due to pending litigation between the company and my agent. This gentleman continue to state that I owed the amount on the invoice and that they had provided me with the information needed. I told him that I had not received the audit information which would outline the charges. He basically left it that I owed the money. I told him I would be happy to speak with him in front of a judge who would legitimately look at the facts of the matter. This company is the typical collections agency that gives collections agencies a bad name.
