My husband And I purchased a new car from Valley HI Toyota and we have never been handle so poorly in our lives. The whole experience was a mess. Well I should say the whole experience. The good thing believe it or not was our salesman, he did not pressure or push us, which made us feel a lot more comfortable. But once the sale got going it was all down hill. We agreed to a certain down payment that was to be paid in 3 weeks, but of course they need the check right away, no biggy right they do this every day. So we wrote them their check, and to our surprise they cashed our check 6 days later. Doing so caused our account to go into the negatives due to several other bills that were clearing the account. So we went back to valley Hi to work this out. They showed no empathy, no apology until almost 2 hours later, just an overall lack of concern. It took them over an hour to finally write us a check to put back into our account. While waiting for this the sales manager has the nerve to come and tell me that the payoff on my trade in was actually higher then what our credit report showed, he asked if I had a credit card to go ahead an take care of the difference. We were in shock. It is the dealerships job to know the payoff amount of any trade in BEFORE the make a deal. And payoff information is available 24/7 on an automated system, this is the same with any car finance company. We told him no we were not responsible for their mistake. He pushed and pushed trying to get us to re-do our contract. Doing this would have made our loan amount more, payment more, interest rate more, everything would have changed. It was bad enough they had already screwed up by cashing our check 2 weeks early, now they want me to pay for their mistake. I don't think so. We know our rights, and this was their mistake, therefore their job to eat the cost, yes money lost on their part but they should have known the correct payoff before making a deal. And how dare them ask me during the time they had cashed our check overdrawing our account. We will never go back to valley hi Toyota again. We had great service at valley hi Honda...But Toyota was a totally different story, nothing but a mess. I will say the sales men were wonderful, even the ones that were not working with us were great, they gave our kids balloons, drinks, they really took care of us in that area. But the rest really left us with a bad taste.
