I noticed a charge from this company appear on my phone bill that arrived today. I am the only one in my company to approve such a purchase and know I did not intentionally approve it.
Calling the number appearing with the charge I reached someone that did not know my name. When I challenged the authenticity she said she would retrieve the "recorded authorization". After two extended periods on hold I was told that they are having a problem with their system and could not retrieve the recording. She said she would stop all charges effective today. When I said that was not good enough and wanted all charges removed, I was asked if I had contacted anyone else prior to calling them. (I'm thinking "Is she talking about the Better Business Bureau or Attorney General or my attorney?".) After saying "No, they were the only call.", she said she would issue a "courtesy credit" for the current charge and that credit should appear on my phone bill in one or two billing cycles.
It will be interesting to see if and when that credit appears. The only positive in this is that they agreed to refund all charges. I was fortunate to have looked closely at my bill.
