I was a client of the Mossler Law Firm and I was pleased with the results. No matter what happened, they took care of it. I WAS very uncomfortable with getting sued by a creditor, but I was already vulnerable to that by my own actions of not paying my bills. They resolved that lawsuit with a settlement (75% of litigated value), and I was happy.
The facts are that I was severely delinquent on a variety of debts. Most were in collections. I received phone calls from a few very persistent collection agencies. Within one month of enrolling I received collection calls from only one creditor. They had just purchased the debt from another collector who had received my attorney's cease and desist, so they were unaware themselves that I was represented. For those of you that don't know what I mean, read the FDCPA regarding collection calls. As far as the financial go, I had $11,367 of debt at the time. They resolved all debts and follow up work in 19 months. I deposited $350.00 a month for all of those months and made an additional $1000.00 deposit midway through to appease a collector intent on suing me (that was the 75%) settlement. Total cost to me: $7650.00. That's about 67% of what I originally owed. Considering interest, penalties and legal fees were increasing the size of my debt, AND I didn't have to do any of this nonsense myself, I received a fairly decent value.
One thing I think that they could have done better was be more consistent with their mail. They was really no regular arrival time of the month. When I would request forms and such they could arrive in three days, sometimes 3 weeks. Maybe it's not their fault.
By the way, the BBB has their state of license WRONG. They are licensed to practice law in INDIANA. They also have affiliated attorneys in all states to provide the legal counsel to all of their clients nationwide. Which is why I was able to be in their service, while being a resident of California.
