My company began using The Call Store to generate calls for our restoration services 4 months ago. I was impressed by the sales man, and the website which gave an helpful overview of the service.
We agreed to a three area plan which had a guarantee of 36 calls within 90 days. At about 45 days into it I realized I hadn't received any calls, so I called customer service and they said they were working on the problem. In the final 45 days that our information was on the website, we received 2 calls that were under 30 seconds, and 4 calls that were between 30 seconds and 2 minutes, however none were legitimate sales leads. For example, one was to cancel a scheduled cleaning service, another was a wrong number, and another was a solicitation call. We received zero calls over 2 minutes, and zero calls resulted in my company providing a service of any kind, or even a bid.
I mention those time periods because when the 90 days was up and I called for a refund I was told that I would received one less the cost of the four calls. Even though the calls were not related to the business leads they said they would create, the 90 day performance guarantee in the agreement says that the refund provided will be prorated based on the number of complete calls. They said they were sending a check sometime in the next 30 days.
In the end they were nice folks, and the concept is great, but I gave them one star because they totally failed to produce any sales leads, which was the entire point. The refund thing is petty and small, but it makes me wonder if many folks simply sign up and never track the results, or simply forget about it? I wouldn't choose to do business with them again purely based on their performance. There are several services out there which do produce calls that lead to work and my money would have been better spent with them.
