Last summer our designer referred us to South Coast Screen & Glass in San Juan Capistrano for shower doors in 3 bathrooms we were upgrading. I worked with Rod Dzandzara who was quite accommodating when trying to earn our $2200+ in business but his customer service once there was a problem was unprofessional and rude.
In July, one of the showers started leaking within a few months of completing work. We first opened the walls to see if the pipes were leaking, then called our tile contractor to check his work on shower pan. He spent the next 3 weeks working to remove, rebuild and retile the shower curb & floor for us. He also cleaned the shower doors and tracks of all silicone residue in preparation to re-hang them.
When it was time to reinstall shower doors, my tile guy called me in to show me the shower tracks which Rod's company provided. He felt, after removing all silicone residue that the shower track was cut too short (by about 1/2") and that the gap at the base of shower frame probably contributed to leak. I volunteered to call South Coast Glass as I figured they'd stand by their work and simply re-cut and reinstall the track. I was wrong. After I had to make 4 phone calls (Rod either didn't have a pen or was too busy to talk to me), Rod wouldn't even send out one of his guys to look at the track let alone replace it. Rod claims they have no obligation to do any repairs. He was rude and offered no solutions. He also insisted he was the business owner and refused to allow us to speak to anyone else. We later learned this was untrue.
I finally found an administrative assistant who offered to speak with the actual owner. They agreed to re-cut the shower track but made me come pick it up and pay my own contractor to reinstall. I would NEVER do business with this company again.
