Horrible Service

I hired Steve Smathers to take down and remove a large dying oak tree. He told me he needed to charge hundreds extra because it was too unsafe for his crew without a crane. Showed up with no crane and took the tree down in a couple of hours. He was quite reckless and damaged other trees in the process and did not seem to have much control over where the huge limbs landed. He even dropped a huge trunk on his own trailer.
Steve assured me that he would be back in three days to remove the tree and clean up. I made the mistake of trusting him and paying him in full. This was two months ago and he has not come back. I have left many messages and he does not return calls.
I DO NOT recommend you hire Steve Smathers for your tree work!
