I had called initially for a quote on getting my kitten spayed. The tech answered the phone because the receptionist was out that day and quoted me 200-250 dollars. So I took my cat in to get looked at. They checked her out and said she was healthy and again quoted me $200-$250 and also mentioned a "wellness" plan which will take care of my cats needs for the next year. Being ok with the quote I agreed. She went to do the paperwork. I needed to pay for the wellness plan so she said lets take care of it while she brings out the spay breakdown. As soon as I swipe the card and this is done they come out with a new total of $330. I am locked in due to the wellness plan and I have to remove a blood test (which later I Google and found out that test was not necessary) to make this affordable and now $286. I saved the money and brought my kitten in. When we get there the price again goes up to $317 I argue back and fourth and they tell me it is due to the fact she is in heat and that is why it went up, after about an hour Dr Grant finally admits she had double billed me. So we agree on a price. About an hour later I receive a phone call saying that my kitten was pregnant and that they have already cut her open. I ask for them to leave her be because I cannot kill the babies and the receptionist tells me this will be $350 because it is considered "exploratory surgery" I have no choice right now because they have cut her open. So I say ok. She then calls me back 15 min late and said "you know how I told you $350 and up (the and up was never mentioned) she said it is now $850. As I stated before I do not have a lot of money so I had to save up for the surgery itself and had to tell them to just continue with the surgery. When they were asked why they did not do an xray on my kitten before surgery they stated "We figured you can't afford it". I was never consulted about the xray being an extra charge and if I was I would of saved because I am more concerned about my cats well being. Come to find out they charge $400 for an xray. They took it into their own hands to deny my cat and xray to make sure it was ok to cut her open and to decide that I "can't afford it. Mind you I have already dropped about a thousand dollars here. They also forgot to micro chip her and had to be reminded to do so when we came to get the kitten. We had discussed previously that it was better to do this while she is asleep because it is a large needle and painful. When we took her home they did not give us the collar to help her not lick herself and called to say they forgot and please come pick it up. They have been completely negligent and I feel I have contributed to animal abuse by bringing my kitten there. I have also requested my money back for the "wellness" plan because I will not bring my kitten there again and have not used it at all and they have played run around and kept us on hold for an hour to come back and say the manager is not in. This is a despicable business.
