I joined Premiere's Institute of Wedding Planning's "Earn While You Learn" program in October 2009 under the Platinum training package for $7500.00. On their website and in my interview with Maria Cook and Angie Shelly aka Michelle Farrell Peralta I was told that the cost of training was high because it was the only program offered in the nation that allowed hands on training with my Market Director, who was an expert wedding planner in the business. I was told that the classes were given online weekly with our Training Director, and that during the training I would shadow my Market Director and learn from first hand experience. I was told that I would be an Independent Contractor for Premiere, and that they would provide me with an email address, an ext. and 250 business cards, and leads. I was told they would provide all leads for me. As part of my Platinum Package, I could also travel to another market for one week and shadow the Director there. I completed the training program and received my certificate, however I NEVER received any hands on training in anything. I never had an opportunity to earn as I learned. The training director Tara Ward never gave any critiques on weekly assignments, even after I asked Tara Ward and Maria Cook multiple times for feedback, but never got anything. Also Premiere Productions has a terrible reputation in the industry and on the internet. Any potential clients I have had either won't take anything I say seriously, or will flat out tell me that they don't want me and my company scamming them out of thousands. I asked Maria Cook for a refund which she told me they would work out for me. She kept making excuses and assured me that she would work on getting me a refund. After 3 months of excuses she had her attorney tell me that they could not refund me any money because they were filing for bankruptcy.
