Review 3/18/2010

*September 2009-I placed an order with Tim Fang at Philippe Langdon, was told I could pay by personal check, money order, or credit card with a 3% Fee. I chose to pay by personal check to avoid the 3% fee. There is nothing on the contract that states Cash or Cashier’s check/money order only. Tim also stated that the wood the unit is constructed out of primarily Cherry, Siberian Birch and other quality hardwoods. After he had my $3350 and we had conversations asking about the wood, he changed it to Hemlock and plywood!
*October- Tim contacted me and told me it would be difficult to get the Truffle Maraschino finish right on a Wall Unit of this size. He proceeded to mail me a sample of wood that did NOT match (at all) the sample he originally had given me. It was not “watermarked” and looked dark brown. I was told I must deal with Joy Fang.
*December-January-the product was stained and a sample which looked like our original sample was held up to the unit and photographed and emailed. It was clear to me that it matched my original sample. We agreed to proceed.
*January 2010-The unit was shipped from China to CA and before it arrived the Philippe Langdon warehouse, Joy began demanding I make arrangements with a local shipper and that I provide payment by Cashiers Check or Money Order only. (No longer was a credit card acceptable or a personal check.) I was told I must now deal with John Yoo.
*January- Early February-I finished pricing for shipping and ended up choosing Philippe Langdon's shipper of choice so that I am ensured to have it delivered safely. This was an act of good faith on my part.
*As of February-John Yoo stated they cannot accept credit card payments and will not get set up to do so. I know that the company could accept credit cards and the 3% fee that I would pay will cover the costs on their end. Now they are threatening to sell my unit, of course, at a loss so I will not be able to recoup my original $3350.00! They want all my money up front and in CASH before I ever get the unit! The shipper wants all my money before they ship the unit! If this continues, I will be out over $8500.00 and have no unit in my posession! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! They do not tell the truth! Amy Kamp
