If anyone asks my opinion, I would tell them to stay away. Lamonica and the internal staff are good. Unfortunately, there are a couple real deep issues with this place. First off, they had a lot of turnover of staff. They promised us activities but it didn't happen. Second, we spent a lot of the weekend doing nothing. Given there are 30-45 patients, a lot sit around talking about drugs. We weren't kept busy on productive tasks. Third, the environment was not safe. I had someone sneak into my room at night and expose himself. I heard of others who claimed records were falsified to show medication was taken when in fact it didn't. Next, they are money driven. It took months to receive my deposit back. The lady I spoke to on the phone was the omst difficult person I ever worked with. She was dishonest and very angry. Reading through this site and Yelp, I can tell I am not alone.
There are so many better places to attend. My genuine feeling is pasadena recovery center is more concerned about money than your well being. It's so sad to see. If you are addicted, please get help. There is a cure. I found it at another place that was so much easier to work with. I had no payment issues with the other place and it was a positive, safe environment. Get the help you need, but please do it elsewhere.
