I have mixed feelings about Parman Law Group. I wish I would have researched loan modifications further before doing business with this company. In the beginning, my rep was very helpful and provided frequent updates. However, the some of the info he gave me I now know was VERY inaccurate. I was told both my 1st & 2nd loan would be modified. This is NOT true. Under the Making Homes Affordable Plan, ONLY your 1st mortgage is eligible for modification. Also, I was charged an upfront fee. This was because the Parman Law Group was a "reputable la firm" I was told. Any company that charges you an upfront fee and promises you results, head for the hills & run the other way.
I was also told by my Parman rep that my lender would not modify my loan if I was current on payments. NOT true. You do NOT need to be behind on your payments to seek help. Anyone that suggests that you should stop paying your mortgage, you should NOT do business with. When my original rep no longer worked for the company, no one called to inform me. It became difficult to get anyone to return my calls or answer my questions. Because I believed the Parman Law Group could help me with both my loans as they stated, my 2nd mortgage ended up in collections. Of course, Parman did not advise me of this fact. I was notified by the collection agency. I can not fully blame Parman for all my misfortune. They were successful in getting me a trial loan mod with my lender. However, I wish they would have been more upfront with me and would not have taken an upfront fee, which they know they should not have done. I would not recommend this company to family or friends.
