They said they fixed the electrical wiring on my Nissan Sentra but they didn't do anything. I asked what did you guys replace and he said some other guy did the work and wasn't sure. But he replaced something. Everything looked the exact same to me though. So they charged me $80 more totally $280 which included a new starter and labor for both the electrical work and to put in the starter. They overcharged me to put in the starter. It only takes 2 bolts to take out a starter and unplug a solenoid and those guys charged me $80!!! what a rip off. And they didn't even fix the wiring! Im never ever going to these guys ever again. Watch out for these guys they might lie to you and say they did a job but they didn't do anything. My advice is to ask them to give you back all the parts they replace, find out how much parts are worth on internet, get several estimates. Another thing about these guys, when they put my starter in, it made the car sound like CRAP. When i turned the key the crank sounded horriblely grinding and metallic like. The mechanic told me that it was normal because the flywheel was old. Some lame excuse. I told him to put in a different one because im pretty sure if the flywheel is old, it wouldnt make that noise. So he put a different one in and then it sounded right.
Last note.... Most mechanics rip you off. You will have better chances getting ripped off at a place where the mechanics are licensed and have plenty of years of expierence, these guys dont seem to have a lot of knowledge, its more of hit and miss process. He didnt even know what a starter bendix was. Usually when they hit and miss, they just charge you for that part and and that labor and continue hitting and missing, Try a mechnic that pinpoints the problem before doing anything. The reason for this hit and miss method is probably because it brings in the doe, which their main concern.
