Fraudulent Company - Scam Business Pretending they are your Copier Company, ZERO STARS
|
Back in March 2012 - a woman named Anne Phillips called me to let me know that “our supplier” had elevated their prices on our toner. She said that we were supposed to receive a memorandum detailing the price change, however since we did not, she was going to credit us for twelve months at a price of $398, instead of the new price, $492.50. She told me that if I had any problems, to let the “courier know that Anne Phillips authorized this transaction.” Anne told me she could not give me her phone number because she had too many outbound calls to make. There was no way for me to reach her to cancel said transaction. When I received the toner, I e-mailed Universal Supply and was then called by Mike Powers, one of the customer service representatives. Mike insisted that I not return the toner, but instead exchange it. He said if I do return the toner, it must be placed in a box with no marks, tape, or any damage, otherwise he “wouldn’t accept the return and charge me full price.” He also said that he would not charge me the restocking fee because I “didn’t want to have to end up paying that.” Mike handled our conversation very poorly. He was interruptive and made me feel as though I was doing something wrong, when clearly, he was. I sent back the toner, letting them know I was on to their scam...IE: PRETENDING THEY ARE YOUR COPIER COMPANY, SENDING YOU TONER (THAT IS MOST LIKELY FREE FROM YOUR COMPANY) THEN SENDING YOU A BIG INVOICE. THEY WILL THEN REFUSE RETURNS AND MAKE YOUR PAY THE BILL. Fast forward to now - May 2013, I received a call from them AGAIN. I called them back (even though their # was blocked) and told them to stop harassing my company, trying to confuse my new assistants into thinking they are our real copier company. Their number is (888) 649-1605...they will answer "Corporate Office" because they aren't a real company, and I'm sure that is all they could come up with. What a pathetic job - leading people to think you are someone you are not, then charging them. This should be a Dateline investigation.
