Do your homework! Had I known this company would move my household goods to a warehouse and then hire a subcontractor to move my belongings across country, I would never have used them. I have moved a lot over the years and have never had so much damage done to my stuff as they did. It was unreal how rough they had to have been with my furniture and dishes to break so much stuff! The two guys who unloaded my belongings into my house were unprofessional and uncaring. They left a huge mess on my hardwood floors and left boxes sitting in the rain even after I asked them not to. Of course they won't unload anything until they are paid in full. They would not be in business if they didn't do that. I am very upset with North East Van Lines for being less than honest in the way they presented themselves to me to get my business. Never again! The .60 cents per lb they offer for broken items is bogus. If they had told me my stuff would be moved on and off different trucks I would have paid for the better insurance. Live and learn!
