Harvey Garte, Susan Garte and Steffanie Heiden of Mortgage Restructuring Solutions Inc. were my key contacts during our business relationship dealing with Bank of America on a mortgage modification. I contacted them with some trepidation having had some very disappointing communications with B of A on my own. Our property became much too expensive to afford when B of A bought out our note from First Franklin late in 2010. Suddenly the payments rose by $1300/month. I was just coming out of a failed business and getting modestly employed. My wife was still employed but I was at about 20% of my previous earnings.
My wife and I decided to trust someone and fortunately we decided on Harvey and his team.
Bottom line is the team at Mortgage Restructuring Solutions Inc. did exactly what they said they would do. They evaluated basically the same information I had given to B of A and told me they would not continue if they were not 90% sure they would be able to help. There was a lot of back and forth communication, mostly via email but by phone when necessary. Susan Garte handled the internal underwriting evaluation and then handed the program off to Steffanie Heiden whose role was negotiator with the bank after my submitted package was presented.
Steffanie kept us informed and up to date on a weekly basis as well as more frequently when the bank needed additional information.
The result is that we are currently in a trial modification for three months which is the standard, after which B of A will formalize the agreement for the life of the loan. Our payments went from about $5300/month not including taxes and insurance to $3041.99/month including escrowed property tax and insurance.
I never sensed any BS from Harvey and his team and I will admit I am somewhat of a skeptic on these things. I don't even write reviews like this either positive or negative but I feel a bit of a rejuvinated trust in people (not Banks) after having dealt with this team. I believe Harvey and his team and company deserve to be recognized for doing what they said they would do.
