Deja vu. The other person's experience is similar to ours.
We contracted with Microsafe to install windows and a door. They were supposed to complete installation within 21 days, but it took several weeks before they even got someone out to measure the windows. When their contractors came, they were measuring the windows with the tape crooked. We charged the windows on a Visa Home Projects card which had twelve monthly interest-free payments. We had already made one payment and still no windows. I called their salesman, John, at least 10 times leaving messages every time. I called the office number numerous times and left messages. After about six weeks, I finally reached John. He claimed a manager had embezzled from the company. That doesn't explain why John didn't return my calls. We had already contacted Alpine and confirmed that the windows had been assembled and were ready to ship. When I contacted Visa and said my windows had not yet been installed, they refunded my first payment and zeroed the balance. I had already asked John 10 times to send me a catalog for the door so we could choose. Despite frequent promises to "get it to you tomorrow", it never came. John contacted me to schedule an installation appointment and we decided on a Saturday. We woke up early and waited patiently until 11:15; that's when I called him. He said he "couldn't find his crew" and would call me back in 15 minutes. Two weeks later, he called me back and said that his crew's license had expired. I told him that I understand businesses have problems, but it's his job to keep us informed. He apologized and said he'd call me the following Monday or Tuesday to set up an appointment and said he would email me the door catalog. As I tried to ask him questions, he kept interrupting me - he doesn't listen. It's now Thursday and still no call from John.
Microsafe offered windows at a great price, but that does you absolutely no good if they never deliver. I don't know how much time we wasted waiting for John to call. He makes promise after promise after promise and never delivers. But when we told him we were ready to contract for the windows, he literally RAN to his truck to get the paperwork. At this point if they offered us the windows for free, I wouldn't trust that the windows would fit and that they'd do a good installation job. We got all our money back, but they wasted our entire summer and time is something too precious and can never be refunded.
