My family has gone to Macy & Thomas for years when i was growing up. My parents still has animals but i noticed they stopped going there. I didn't think to ask and now I wish I did ask! My dog a 2 year old Aussie mix had a tick head on her neck. I went in there to see about getting it removed and she had a tumor like bump on her shoulder so i had them take a look at that too. Not once did they say there was an office visit fee, they didn't talk about cost at all. The Vet took a sample of the bump before giving me the price so there was nothing i can do. He told me my dog only 2 needed her teeth cleaned he said she has bad tartar! He said we would have to sedated her for removing the tick and with that i can clean her teeth no problem. I thought what a nice caring vet! Then i walked out, they showed me the estimates! $307 to remove a tick head! and $507 to do both, teeth and tick! I was floored! They gave me the bill for the visit! $154.00... FOR WHAT! the office visit and the testing of the bump! I was very mad! I left. I called another vet, they removed the tick for $54.00 and said her teeth are fine!
They are money hungry! They dont care about your four legged loved one they just want MONEY! I do have to say the the people in the front were very nice, happy and I was hoping it would be the vet as well but it was not!
I have a few people that i have met that had a similar experance with Macy & Thomas. I would reccomond you not go there and find another Vet.. Banfield is now my vet and I would send anyone there!
