LA Fitness left a very bad taste in my mouth after dealing with them!!! They will squeeze as much money out of you as they can. The way they do their contracts should be illegal, they don't even say to read it before you sign it, I signed this little pad thing that's the same that you sign when you slide a credit card and than print it out for you. First off I was really interested in going to LA Fitness, cause I thought they were a good company and the place where I signed up in Marina Del Rey, they were usually a bit of people there, and the staff was friendly, being a Army Veteran I wanted to stay in shape after my 8.5 years of service to this country. Well a day after I signed up I got a job offer in North Carolina to work along side of Soldiers and help them maintain their readiness by returning their Equipment to Full Mission Capable status, nearest LA Fitness is over a couple hundred miles away so I was sad that I had to cancel, I read the contract and I had a couple days to cancel. My wife was on the contract so I asked her to cancel since I was busy with the big move from Los Angeles,CA to North Carolina. This Asian woman that works there told my wife OK to give her our bar codes we got, and typed on her computer for a few mins and sent my wife on her way. I was a day and a half away from leaving, and I decided to check to make sure LA fitness is canceled nope, it wasn't. I read the Contract over and over and this employee didn't even offer the letter that you had to mail to completely cancel it, AND my LA Fitness Accounts were still Active and took out about 298 bucks of fees from my back account. I called them to refund my money since when I canceled it was within the 5 days of getting my full refund, but when I called them it was a day after and they said I was too late and cant get a penny of my money back, and was moving in a day across the country, and this was just the situation I needed before I made my cross country trip. Anyways as of today, my accounts are finally canceled but for some weird reason I still owe them money?!?!??!?! and I canceled back end of February. Lucky for me I lost my debit card so I had to cancel them. Now they call all day and and late at night when I am sleeping at like midnight. If they keep bothering this for sure will go into the class action lawsuit I read that was going around to further strengthen it since I read LA Fitness has Appealed. If this gets resolved than I will not take part of the suit, if nothing gets done about this than I will go to the nearest base and make sure LA fitness gets put on the Soldiers/Airman off-limits list so no service member gets into shady business like them.
