I recently had termite inspection and repairs performed by Integrity Termite. I have used this company in the past. This time I have disputed the quality of work performed AND that their work was not performed per the signed contract. They have agreed only to fix a minor problem with regards to repainting and partially sealing work that they did to the facia trim and T111 siding replacement.
They replaced facia trim in a manner that was unattractive AND the workmanship was poor in that when they joined 2 pieces of lumber together - they made no effort to match wood grain and they joined the facia material in a place that is very visible instead of placing the joint further up the roof line. They also could have easily reversed the lumber to obtain a better grain match. Since we have rough sawn lumber installed the cuts are very different.
Also, the signed contract is misleading in that arrows point to different areas of the facia that I believed were going to be replaced. After the work was completed the estimator told me that they didn't agree to replace some of the lumber and that the office personnel made up the drawing and sent it to me for approval, which did not match the drawing the estimator made at our house. I asked that the lumber be replaced as the drawings on the contract suggested and the estimator said the owner refuses to do that along with they refuse to replace the lumber that they joined and did not bother to match or mate up to achieve the best appearance.
The company did agree to come back and fill a number of nail holes on the T11 siding that they installed but did not agree to provide a new piece of material that was nailed incorrectly onto the side of the house. Nails near the bottom of the panel have missed hitting the studs therefore there is little purchase to hold the wood in place at the bottom near the ground.
I would not recommend this company for use as they are not interested in providing installation of materials as shown on their contract agreement. The drawings are very misleading and would lead one to think that much more work is going to be provided. Additionally, the company has no interest in redoing the facia to make it more uniform in appearance - stating that "it is what I ordered".
Unfortunately, we paid a lot of money for work we expected to be done and in fact was not done AND some of it was done in a very substandard manner.
