DO NOT use Grand Moving!
|
I'm glad these others had such positive experiences; however, my father moved from California to Oregon and dealt with a gentleman named Serge who apparently had NO IDEA what he was doing in quoting the moving price. My father did his research with different companies and decided on Grand Moving because they would match another company but get the delivery to Oregon sooner. Once the delivery men arrived (2 of them) we found that the quote was too low and that it would be higher. My father felt he had no choice but to sign the new contract as he had to be in Oregon for his job by a specific date. We had all items boxed and some of which were marked "FRAGILE" which meant nothing when they were loaded. The boxes were just put on the truck regardless and thus several items ended up broken upon delivery. In addition, since only one person (rather than both of them) attempted to move the large items some of them arrived damaged, scraped or broken.
Grand Moving also fail to tell you that if you go over a certain cubic foot and/or weight you are charged a fuel fee (for my dad it was approximately $350.00). They also neglect to tell you that you are charged for the tape and plastic wrap (used in excess on the large items) which resulted in an additional $800 charge (all the tape was not used as my dad still has 4-5 rolls of unused tape - but he got to pay for them).
The deliverymen were very polite and nice (Kenneth and Mike) but politeness and niceness did not get the items delivered unscathed and a $2400 moving quote ended up costing $5000.00. My dad has made several attempts to call Grand Moving to discuss these issues and would like to send photos of the broken and/or damaged items; however, no one will give him the courtesy of a return call.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE and I'm sure my dad will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.
