Last Friday I was very surprised to receive a shipment of three (3) HP8150 printer cartridges regardless of my telling both the rep and the shipping department that I did need or not wish to receive this shipment. The initial offer made to me was to try one cartridge to see if it worked better than what we have been using. I never would have agreed to purchasing four (4) cartridges at the price quoted.
I called this morning to let them know that I am going to return the cartridges and was informed that I must receive authorization from the rep to make such a return or the cartridges would just be sent back to me. Instead of a personal call I then received a fax which offered an increased discount on the cartridges. I faxed this back again stating that I am going to return the cartridges but have heard nothing else from them.
I have sent a certified letter again asking for the authorization to return the cartridges. As I did not authorize this order and asked that it not be shipped I will not authorize payment of the invoice.
We will begin refusing any shipments from global and if we do not receive the authorization to return the cartridges will write and thank them for the "gift".
Update: On the day they got my certified letter I finally got a call back from the sales rep who still insisted that I had agreed to purchasing 4 cartridges. He tried every tactic in his repertoire to get me to agree to keep them - discounts, sob story about they are a broker and ordered them just for me, they sent me a nice gift... - and my continued insistence that I did not order, did not want and would not pay for them he finally agreed I could send them back. I insisted on a return authorization number which he grudgingly gave. They went out last night - hopefully never to return.
Give that a try.
