I am a former customer of GMAC and have to say I am very disappointed in the way GMAC handled the cancellation of my policy. As required I gave them notice both verbally and written of my desire to cancel 10 days prior to my next payment (April 18th). On April 28th, I found that GMAC had still taken the automatic payment out of my account. I immediately called them and was told on the phone that I would receive a full refund directly into my account. After 2 weeks of constant phone calls, I still had not received my refund. Finally I was able to speak with a manager who apologized and said he would find out what had happened. The next day he called me back to tell me the check had been mailed to me and also it would only be a partial credit. I asked him why I had never heard this before, including him. He had no comment for me.
