8 inch tape for pool repair

I just bought the 8 inch wide tape to patch out pool .. with NO water in it. Pool was dry and clean . It came up.. started leaking , I did another patch job over a big hole with tape on both sides ..It leaks This stuff is way over rated..NOT HAPPY at all!!!!!!!!!!!
