Therapy pool still going strong after 5+ years
|
We have been using our pool continuously for the last 5 1/2 years. We bought our 7' x 12' Therapy Pool in 2009. Cost was only about 20% of what comparable permanent installation products would have cost. I have arthritis, and having a HEATED pool in my home has kept me healthier and more functional than any pool or spa that I would have to leave the house to use. It was fairly easy to set up (not quite as easy as the pictures made it seem, but very doable with a crew of two - my son and myself). Being able to use the pool anytime I want (such as 1:00 am when I can't sleep) is such a luxury! Being able to keep the pool at the temperature I like best is always a treat. The combination heater/ ozonator/ filter/ pump has been a workhorse. The only thing that has worn out after 5 years of continuous, year-round use is the pump, which died 6 weeks after the warranty expired. Easy to replace, and really, I can't complain about 5 years of service! Two pieces of advice for anyone planning to purchase the therapy pool: 1) buy the upgraded stairs for entry to the pool. They are much more stable, which is a big consideration for anyone who has limited mobility due to arthritis or pain. 2) Buy a couple of extra filters. That way, you can always have a clean, dry filter ready to switch out whenever you need to. Bottom line - I love my pool, and I love the fact that it is moveable. If we ever move to a different house - my pool is going with me!
