Went to EZ Lube #045 for an oil change and rear differential fluid change. My Honda pilot requires a special diff fluid which the service tech noted and up-charged $20.
A few days later the rear diff started to make a clanking noise. After the noise became progressively louder, I took my car to a Honda dealership for inspection.
They asked if I just had it serviced, when I said yes and asked why the question, they CERTIFIED the fluid used was wrong and the diff needs to be replaced for $4000.
EZ Lube was notified and their response was a claim denial because Honda can't prove the fluid sample came from my car. When I asked why they thought Honda would be in collusion with me and lie regarding the fluid, the EZ Lube District Manager said they don't make these mistakes because they double check their work, so Honda has to be wrong
Small claims court is next on my agenda
