What I have found out about Central Intake Center is the following: There is no Fictitious Business Name filed with Orange County, CA for the Irvine office; There is no known CA Attorney attached to Central Intake Center or Liberty Law Group according to the CA State Bar; CIC is not an authorized Legal Referral Service according to the CA State Bar; CIC is not registered as a Foreclosure Consultant with the CA Attorney General (which requires a 100K Bond); CIC's address is a Private Mail Box inside the Irvine Mail N More on Alton Parkway.
James Barker represented himself as the Director/Leader/Manager upon my call 03/21/2011, but refused to give the name of a single CA Attorney attached to this "Law Firm." In CA, it is unethical for Attorneys to work under a non-attorney unless they are Corporate Counsel. It is illegal to practice Law in CA without a CA Bar admission, unless you are registered with the CA State Bar as Corporate Counsel or a narrow exception. Representing Homeowners is not within that exception.
The website WWW.CICTR.NET is registered to James Barker, and Central Intake Center is also the location that you reach when you call Liberty Legal Group. According to Rosie (3/22/2011) at CIC, they only do Phone Intake/Qualification there, and you never meet a human until they refer your case to "Member" firm. "There" is a relative term, because NO ONE will tell you the address that they are working from.
I have referred this "Off The Grid" Loan Modification company to the OC District Attorney for investigation. If I hear anything, I will update this Review. At present, I would recommend staying away from Liberty Law Group and Central Intake Center.
