Dishonest, unethical

Interesting how one of the previous reviews uses words like "family business," just what the owners of this company say when you call to complain... My experience was the same as many of the others who've posted. A sewage spill happened and I called. I
was explicitly told "Don't phone your homeowner's insurance company! They will deny your claim. We'll take care of it, and we have a perfect record of writing up the claim so they will approve it." They asked me to sign a work order, which stupidly I did.
The workers come out and are there for days. No price is given and if you ask they say "It's a big job, but don't worry, your insurance will cover it." The company files the claim -- and by the way, an estimate has magically appeared above the signed work
order, making it look as though I approved the estimate. The insurance company FREAKS OUT because, as the adjuster told me, "You could have added a room for what they want to charge." They send another clean-up company out and their estimate is HALF what California
Restoration wanted. The insurance company DOES NOT cover the cost of the cleanup. They cover HALF. California Restoration then tells us we are on the hook for the rest and they will file a lien on our house if we don't pay. After a few weeks of back and forth,
we made an offer for one-third of what they said we owed and they took it so quickly, we probably could have just said no. By the way, they sent notice they were going to file a lien, but never actually did. More bull. If you read reviews, you see that this
is standard operating procedure with these people. SHAMEFUL, DISHONEST, UNETHICAL. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
