This company claims to be a debt collection service, but once they have your money--supposedly for court costs--you will never hear from them again. Their phone numbers get disconnected, the number on the website are hardly answered and if they are, always by different people who know nothing about your case. Be very careful and DO NOT do business with them. I would encourage anyone who has had similar experiences to contact the district attorney's office in Ventura to file a complaint to assist them in their investigation. This company took almost $4,000 from me for what they claimed was court costs to litigate my case against a debtor. While the case was forwarded to the attorney, they did not forward the initial court costs (which are only less than $500). The attorney's office was unable to talk to anyone in SB&L, and when I pressed SB&L to send the $, instead they pulled the case from the attorney. SB&L said that my case was sent to another attorney, but refused to give me their name. When I asked them to return the money to me and stop working on my case, they refused. Even the attorney's office was shocked that they could ask for the whole fees upfront. Almost four months after I sent them my money, I have nothing from them, except lies and excuses. I have also wasted valuable time in recuperating my $ from my debtor as each day that goes by the chances increase that the company will go out of business.
This company is definitely running a fraudulent operation. Go look at the Ripoff Reports online and you'll see the same type of complaints that I'm having. I wish there would have been these type of reviews and/or info on these sites before falling victim to this company.
