STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, ESPECIALLY MILITARY MEMEBERS!!
My husband is active duty Army. We moved from Hawaii to Pennsylvania, with a stop in Virginia. We had 2 vehicles we had to move and the Army only pays for one. We did research and found Auto Shippers America, liking the reviews on their website. When we spoke to a representative, Gill, he gave us what we thought was a really good deal. Especially since he boasted of 'taking care' of the military.
We faxed our information, including our payment information. Our truck was delivered to California, where ASA was supposed to have a driver ready for transport to Virginia. We knew it could take a "few days" according to Gill to find a a driver, but one would be found "within 10 days to 2 weeks." We called when the deadline passed 2 weeks. No answer. Many times I tried to reach Andrew, the owner. I was pushed off numerous times. When our wait time reached 21 days, contractually I was allowed to cancel the contract and receive a full refund.
The owner would not even accept my phone calls when I tried to get my refund. He told his' secretary to tell us that we would NOT be receiving a refund. When I reminded her of the contract statements, she informed me again that we wouldn't be receiving a refund. I informed her that the $200 deposit was a lot of money to our family, to no avail.
Unfortunately, we could not afford a lawyer to sue for our deposit. If you need a reliable shipper, this is not the company to do business with.
