My partner and I ordered around $1,400.00 worth of livestock from this company, it took them a week to get our order ready when it was a "Local Pickup". We were okay with this even after reading the information posted about this company in various forums and review sites. In our order was a Blue Carpet Anemone which was priced at $219.00. After receiving the anemone, we acclimated it and placed it in our tank. The anemone appeared to be stressed so we gave it a couple of days to acclimate and become comfortable with it's new surroundings.
A few days later I noticed the "foot" or "boot" of the anemone was blue itself. I've been maintaining marine aquariums for almost 16 years and I know when the foot of an anemone is colored, that means the anemone was dyed. I called Aquatic Connection to dispute the issue and received nothing but argument and responses telling me that it was the water parameters of my tank or that I "didn't know what I was talking about". I will say this... I have had many anemone's in the past and I know that the foot of a colored carpet should always be white or brown. There is no color in a True Blue Anemone on the foot.
I am posting this as a BEWARE to all of those people out there who are ordering from this company! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! They lie, cheat and fraudulently do business. We will never order another item from this company as long as we are alive, and I personally will tell everyone I know in the industry about my experience with this business and they're practices. These people should be ashamed of themselves and should be shut down, period!
As for any of the staff from Aquatic Connection... I hope they enjoy fighting with the credit card company about the $219.00 purchase. We will be getting our money back one way or the other.
So anyone out there thinking that they should order from theses guys... DON'T! Your saving yourself the time, money and aggravation by avoiding these people like the plaque. I hope this prevents some people from having to go through the frustration of dealing with low life scum like Aquatic Connection.
