Review 2/23/2011

We had moved from San Diego to the bay area in December of 2010 using Allstate Relocations. On the day of delivery, however, the movers added charges that were not part of the agreement. First, they tried to over charge by adding 680 lbs. more than the actual weight. Second, by charging $337 for materials that were not not even used. Third, $75 of unexplained cash reversal fee even though the balance was paid in cash.
Not only the movers were 4 hours late than they promised to arrive, they demanded immediate cash payment of additional $1500 upon arrival and intimidated to keep our things in the truck otherwise. I tried to resolve the issue by calling the sales rep (Sherry Clark) who was the point of contact but she was unwilling and rather hostile over the phone. At least she agreed to refund $50 (of $100 they charged extra for special materials for piano such as crate or bubble wrap but none of which were used) and yet they haven't. I made numerous attempt to contacted the company's customer service by phone and via e-mail as instructed on their website but have not gotten one response from them. I just filed complaint with BBB and found out their rating is "F."
I've moved from coast to coast and within CA state but have never encountered any moving company as unprofessional and deceptive as Allstate Relocations. Look for another moving company and save yourself a headache!
