Horrible company....BEWARE!!!! The only reason 1 star shows up is that is the default on this web site...I would give them negative stars if possible. THE WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER!!! Check their BBB score and make sure you don't click on any links from their site because it take you to a fake BBB page with an A instead of their real score of a D. TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS. You will be lucky if you get your stuff back! We were quoted 7-10 days. It took 41 days and threatening to actually show up at their office with police before we received our belongings...which were damaged and missing boxes....with extra bogus charges as well. We slept on the floor and had not pots, pans, dishes, bedding, etc and we have a 10 year old and a 1 year old. My son wasn't able to start school on time because we didn't have all his records. We moved from Florida to California in mid June 2010, and used a reputable larger moving company, unfortunately my dad became ill and we had to move back asap. The company I previously used was unavailable for pick up on the date we needed to leave (August 3, 2010). Allstate said they could be there, and after checking their fake score and fake reviews we went with them. We know what our stuff weighed and even got a quote for 500 lbs over. They tried to say that we were over in weight by 2,500 lbs! We were only in California for a little over a month and didn't buy anything big while there! I told them we wanted to witness the weigh in as stated in the contract and they said that we would have to go 150 miles to do this and that they would charge us for the extra time and fuel to do so. That is not the nearest weigh in to us. We decided not to do this because we would have had to pay them before the final weigh in and when I asked how I would get our money back when it was determined that their weight was wrong, Ingrid told me that she was sure the weight was right and we wouldn't get our money back. They also demanded the extra cash that we supposedly owed before they would unload the truck even though the contract states you are only required to pay 10% over the estimate.
We have pictures of how our belongings were stacked, fragile on the bottom non fragile, heavy boxes on the top. When they opened the truck our dining room chairs actually fell out from the top. The driver stood on my furniture to get boxes down from the top. Boxes were opened and most were squished. The driver did not want me to do the inventory check off of boxes as they were being unloaded, he actually acted appalled and put out. He even refused to read off numbers to me.
Both the driver and the office staff are rude liars. They lie about everything. For 3 weeks every time I called Jolee would tell me that my stuff would be on it's way in 2-3 days. One of the excuses Jolee gave was that "there was a big storm in Connecticut, Georgia, Virginia" and then laughed. Emily would never return phone calls and acted annoyed whenever I called. I was put on hold for at least 5 minutes every time I called and once for 20 minutes, they never answered the phone again that day. After speaking to Jolee and questioning where our belongings were, my husband was put on hold and five minutes then a different employee picked up and told him Jolee was talking to a customer and he would have to leave a message. One time Emily answered and after rudely asking who I was and what I wanted then told me she was the answering service (that they don't have)but wasn't smart enough to come up with a fake name when I asked for it, she got flustered and hung up on me...I called back all day and night and never got an answering service again.
Now that my stuff has been delivered and I am calling about damaged items and lost boxes they refuse to talk to me. They just pick up the phone and hang it up. They have told me not to call and that they are filing a restraining order on me. Funny because they are the ones who are operating without a license according to BBB and the DOT. The DOT stated to us that they should not be operating and that they legally did not have the right to even pick up our stuff. They also said that if they were stopped and caught operating illegally our belongings would be confiscated. Do yourself a favor and call DOT at 888-368-7238 and give them their license # mc639120 before you decide. They falsified documents and we had to get the local police involved, who tried everything they could to help us not pay the extra charges, but were unsuccessful because that is more civil than criminal. They did tell us to sue that they checked on them as well and they knew we were being scammed. Be weary of what you sign as they will fill in (with different ink) bogus charges and if you were unfortunate enough to use them get your local law enforcement involved, they cant help with the billing end of it but they can make sure your stuff is unloaded after you pay without you having to sign any forms....Do not sign especially if they offer you a pathetic $200 discount for your inconveniences because what you are signing is waiving your right to sue or hold them liable for any damages. The ironic thing is the driver has CRIMINAL written really big on his truck...He claims it is his C.B. handle and even joked about it with us! This describes this company so perfectly...CRIMINAL...I don't know how they are still operating.
