Avoid AVR Los Angeles
|
My conscious urged me to let as many as people know our experience with AVR Los Angeles is, so people won't get scammed, cheated, and forced to pay so much more than they initially priced - for my case I was forced to pay about doubled price. Here is our experience:
1. We booked a 15 seats van online and was confirmed. The price was cheap.
2. When we arrived the LAX airport around 7:00pm, there was no shuttle to pick us up.
3. We called AVR many many times but no one answered the phone.
4. We asked someone in the airport and was suggested to take G bus to go to a certain place that AVR shuttle may be found.
5. We got off the G bus and found another group of people were waiting, they said they have waited 30 minutes already, and AVR said they will come to pick them up.
6. We found it's 20 minutes walk by looking at Google map, we decided to walk there.
7. When we got there we were told there was no 15 seat van!!! Later we saw 3 other groups were disappointed by being told there is no 15 seat van at all. They told us the only choice is we rent two minivans. It's already 10:00pm and we couldn't find any other rentals.
8. AVR persuaded (more like forced) us to buy their insurance $19 per day, though we told them we have our own insurance and our credit card covers car rental insurance too.
9.They also charged me $219 for deposit.
10. The bad things didn't stop yet. When we returning the car, they charged us cleaning fee for the normal use. We felt being cheated but have no one to report and make it right. It's such bad feeling.
