Bait & Switch
|
On 2/6/2015, I received a phone call from this company selling me their service, for $199 a month. When I objected to the price, I was offered a free month. I said the price was outside my budget, and I was connected to a manager, who dropped the price to around $170. Later that day, I sent a cancellation request, then called to do the same. I was offered a reduction of $142.20 with one month free.
On 2/12/15, I called because I was having trouble getting into my back office. On that same day, my billing history shows $143.20 was "Push", which I assume is how they handle the first month free.
Today, I check their website @ www.29prime.com, and see a large image, which I printed up for my records, that says "$99 a month. Sign up today and get the first month FREE."
Now if that is their offer, why in the world was I quoted three different prices well above their advertised price?
I checked online, and the FTC regulates this type of action as a violation of consumer laws for bait and switch. At best, their sales people are extremely aggressive, at worse, fraudulent.
They won't respond to my email requests to cancel their service.
Something else is weird, every time I call them, it sounds like they are on a cell phone. Also I keep getting phone calls that drop to dead air and when I call back, it just goes to a busy signal. And my back office doesn't look like any activity happened, doesn't look like any of the service they promised is taking place.
