HORRIBLE COMPANY
|
NEVER, EVER FOR ANY REASON USE THIS COMPANY. My experience was a nightmare of waiting, bait and switch and LIES! I contracted with Passeri Marble company to retile my kitchen backsplash and, at the same time, I ordered countertops. For the backsplash, I selected a Datile subway tile from the Datile Rittenhouse Square display board in the showroom. A contract was drawn up by the owner Debby citing my choice K165 which is the code used by Datile. I chose Datile because it makes a bullnose tile for edging and is made in USA and Mexico - not China. First, FIVE WEEKS went by and I had no countertops and no kitchen sink that were promised "in about 10 days". If that doesn't sound like a long time then try doing dishes in a tiny bathroom sink while the owner of Passeri Marble lies to you blaming the manufacturer for the delay. The truth is that she didn't order the material in a timely fashion !!! I got so fed up with making phone call after phone call to Passeri Marble asking about my countertops that I called the countertop manufacturer directly and was told it only took 2 to 3 DAYS to deliver the material. NEXT THE BACKSPLASH: it is the classic BAIT AND SWITCH scam. The tile I selected from the Datile Rittenhouse Square display board in color K165 at Passeri Marble showroom was SWITCHED to a tile made in China called Fusion Decor in the color cream and is sold in our local Home Depot. (I took pictures of my selection on my iPhone on the day I made my selection and signed the contract. Thank goodness iPhone have the time, place and date stamped on photos) Fusion Decor made in China does not make a bullnose tile so that is why Passeri Marble - without my authorization- used a cheap aluminum edge to finish my backsplash edges. When I saw the aluminum edge installed I hit the roof! My edges were not bullnose as my contract stated and aluminum oxidizes in salt air. I live across from the ocean and have the intracoastal in my backyard. But far worse, now I KNEW that the product on my wall was not the product I ordered because the installer told me that the manufacturer of the tile on the wall did not make a bullnose tile. I knew Datile did because I have their brochure. I contacted the owner and her argument is that the tile they put up "looks" the same! Ya, cheap knock offs from China ALWAYS looks like the genuine item but they are still FAKE and illegal. And that's what I got - tile from China instead of Datile made in the USA/Mexico. Then the owner argues that our contract doesn't specifically say Datile - but it does. She also claims that it does not say bullnose. The contract states I chose color K165 which is a Datile color code and it does say bullnose tile! She used EVERY excuse in the book to attempt to persuade me that our contract does not specify either Datile or bullnose. I posted pictures that prove differently. The fact is I ordered a Datile product with a bullnose finish and I got Fusion Decor with a cheap aluminum edge finish. Passeri Marble engaged in switch and bait which consumer fraud and I have contacted the AG office, the BBB and hiring a lawyer to make sure this does not happen to anyone else. What happened to me is deceptive business practices and it illegal.
